Description:
Kojokar gives an excellent performance as Aurora, who awakens from a 100-year sleep with a kiss from the prince and grows from a young girl to an adult! One of Tchaikovsky's three great ballets, everyone loves Petipa's great work "Sleeping Beauty". This is a video recording of the 2006 performance by M. Mason & C. Newton of the 46-year-old version by Sergeyev, de Valois, and Messel, re-staged to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the ballet company. Princess Aurora is played by the Royal's dainty flower, Alina Cojocaru, and the Prince is played by the orthodox and consistently talented Federico Bonelli. Cojocaru's technique is also well-developed, with a graceful rose adagio, steady steps, and a daring fish dive. Cojocaru also showed rich expressiveness in Act I, the impatience of the visionary waiting for the prince in Act II, and the glamour of Act III. Marianela Nunez, who is gaining popularity in Japan, gives a fine performance as the Lilla Nymph, a goddess of good fortune, and Japanese dancer Yohei Sasaki shows off his magnificent leaps in the Blue Bird.
