Description:
British music for two violins! English Music Festival's own label "EM Records", which discovers overlooked British works, presents a recording by London-based violinist Aoi Komachi, a specialist in British music. Sophie Rosa, who won the second prize and the Audience Prize at the 2011 Manchester International Violin Competition and made her debut on Champs Hill Records with a collection of violin sonatas by Franck and Ravel (CHRCD 123), has performed and recorded with Aoi Komachi frequently in concert and on recordings. The album features fascinating works for two violins composed in England in the 20th and 21st centuries. The melodies of the violins weave together like the warp and weft of a textile. This album is technical, yet expresses elements of English folk songs and "songs" to the fullest. Tokyo M-Plus
