Description:
Cdric Pcha: The Complete Works of Cdric Pcha, in the 1980s, in the Steinway D-type unequal tuning! She was also trained by Andreas Steyer, and she has studied all of Bach's cantatas and is a great admirer of Bach. Pescha, who won first prize at the Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition in 2002, is a Lausanne pianist of Swiss and French nationality. She recorded this recording entirely from memory, and it is a Bach recording with an open romanticism that is uniquely Pescha's. Pescha's comments on the instrument (from the liner notes)It is a Steinway D model from the 80's. Andrs Schiff plays it regularly. This is the piano that Andrs Schiff regularly uses in his recordings, and it is a truly excellent cantabile effect. When choosing the instrument, the sound duration was an important point for me. However, it is a very piano-like instrument, so I requested that it be tuned to an unequal temperament. This is because each tonality had a specific character in Bach's time, when the equal-means rule was not in use.
